The Effects of Storm Damage

The Age of Your Roof

Older roof systems are more susceptible to hail and wind damage. If you have had a bad storm in your area that included hail and/or high winds, it is in your best interest to have your roof inspected for storm damage. Substantial wind and hail damage from various storms is not necessarily visible from the ground. Future storms will aggravate the damage previously caused allowing interior water damage to your home.

Contact Spartan Roofing today for a complimentary inspection of your roofing system. If there is no damage, then you will know and can rest assured that your roof is damage-free and protecting your home. If there is sufficient damage for an insurance claim, we will advise and assist you through the process.

Effects of Hail

The protective coating on composition shingles is the granular surface. When hail (3/4″ to 2″) strikes a composition shingle it damages this protective surface, and, in some cases, the asphalt coating as well as the fiberglass mat. Wood shingles and wood shakes are punctured and or split and metal accessories are dented. Skylights, A/C vents, siding, gutters, downspouts, windows, window beads, and screens are generally damaged as well.

Effects of Wind

Asphalt shingles are manufactured with a seal tab. This tab can become broken during high winds. The damage that may exist could be displaced shingles, lifted seal tabs, and gouges on the roof surface from flying debris. If any of these wind effects have occurred, you may be due a complete new roof replacement.

The Insurance Process

  • Roof Inspection

Have your roof inspected by a reputable contractor for storm-related damage!

  • File A Claim

If you have damage, contact your insurance claims department to file a claim and request that an insurance adjuster inspects your home.

  • Sign The Contract

    PRICE ADVANTAGES

The contract price will be equal to the amount of money allowed by the insurance company and never greater than that amount. In some cases, Spartan Roofing's standard pricing is greater than the insurance company will allow. We use an independent pricing guideline that provides industry-standard “fair market value” pricing for all areas of the United States and is recognized by most insurance companies. We can submit a supplement to the insurance company for their consideration to raise their pricing to the “fair market value.”

Your total out-of-pocket cost is always known before signing a contract.

Spartan Pro Roofing assumes any pricing risk involved in the installation of your new roof or other repairs. You know exactly what your expense will be.

  • Set The Adjuster Meeting

IMPORTANT: Be sure a Spartan Roofing representative is on-site when the adjuster makes their initial visit.

Once you hear from the adjuster, contact Spartan Roofing to let us know when the adjuster meeting is. We will meet with the insurance adjuster to scope the damages. We are trained professionals and will insist on a fair and complete statement.

After our initial meeting, the adjuster will determine a fair market value to repair the damage to your home. This value must include the rising costs of labor, materials, and the transfer of materials that will be incurred. Spartan Roofing will then complete all work on the property loss worksheet for the amount the insurance company allows. Spartan Roofing will process all checks which require endorsements from your mortgage company. Sit back, relax, and let your professional staff work through the insurance process and re-roofing project with experience and dedication to customer satisfaction.

  • Review The Paperwork & First Payment

After your insurance adjuster has inspected the property, you should receive paperwork outlining the damaged items. Once you receive this paperwork, contact your Spartan Roofing Representative. We will review the documents to ensure that all items have been paid for correctly. If so, we will schedule a time to meet with you to begin your material selection process. If not, we can go over your options to ensure you receive the correct “Fair Market Value” Pricing you deserve from your insurance company.

  • Material Selection

Spartan Pro Roofing will help you select the best materials available for your individual situation.

  • Roof Installation

We will install your roof system to the manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Final Payment & Recoverable Depreciation

Once the installation is complete, your ACV and deductible amount are due. We will send a final invoice to your insurance company to release your recoverable depreciation and any supplemental amounts (if applicable) to you.

Once you have received your recoverable depreciation and any supplemental amounts (if applicable), contact us to schedule a time to collect your final payment. Once paid in full, your file will be sent to warranty processing. You should receive your warranty documents within 2-3 weeks via US Mail.
